If rain is in the forecast, we confirm with you the day before whether the job goes ahead or moves to the next clear day. Polymeric sanding in particular always moves if rain is coming, since it needs that dry surface to work from the very first step through to the last. Heavy rain, freezing temperatures and high wind can all push a job to the next safe day as well, and we would always rather move a date than gamble on a result that will not hold up once the weather turns.
None of that counts as a cancellation, and none of it costs you anything. It is simply us protecting the work, since a wash done in the rain or sand packed into a wet joint would not hold up, and we would rather move the date than do the job twice.
Spring, summer and fall in Toronto
Spring tends to be when driveways and patios are showing the most buildup after a full winter under salt, snow and slush, though it also means more rain to schedule around and more flexibility built into the timeline. Summer usually gives the most consistently dry stretches for both washing and sanding, which is why booking a little ahead of when you actually want the work done is worth doing. Fall still works well for both, with the main thing to watch being how late in the season you are booking relative to the first frost, since sanding needs that dry cure window before temperatures drop for good.

How booking actually works once the weather cooperates
We book jobs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and can usually find you a day that week or the next once you leave your details, whether that is through the quote form on this site or a call or text to 647 559 3206. We give you a call to confirm timing, and then text you the day before to confirm the exact day is still a go.
If you need to move a booking for any reason unrelated to weather, just let us know and we will find another day. Weather moves specifically never count as a cancellation and never cost you anything.
What we watch for beyond just rain
Rain is the most obvious thing that moves a job, but it is not the only one. Freezing temperatures can affect how well polymeric sand sets even if the surface itself looks dry, and high wind can make a pressure wash messier and less controlled than it should be, especially near siding or anything close to a neighbouring property. We factor all of that into the call we make the day before, not just whether the forecast shows rain.
If a job does need to move for any of those reasons, we would rather push it a day and do it properly than run it in conditions that put the result at risk. A wash or a sand job done in the wrong weather does not actually save anyone time if it has to be redone later.
